New Boutique in Amsterdam called Eyewear Vintage!

As far as I can remember I have always been interested in sunglasses. As a child I saw these glamorous actresses and models in the fashion magazines in beautiful editorials or on their personal vacation trips wearing the latest eyewear trends.

And when I was old enough I started to purchase and collect a lot of them. Rain or shine, I am a firm believer that you can wear these shades whenever you want. Yes they do protect you against the bright sun light and give you on the not so sunny days a “I don’t want to be bothered” look, but still glam. One day I was walking in my neighborhood and I spotted a new boutique called Eyewear Vintage! I fell in love!

Eyewear Vintage

“We deal in vision of excellence and it is our mission to Clothe your Eyes!”

Eyewear Vintage was founded out of passion for quality and design. Hannah & Jelle are dedicated collectors, who are proud of their collection and products. They both started on a quest for eyewear fashion about a decade ago. One thing led to another and basically it developed from a rather large collection into their very own boutique.

The Eyewear Vintage collection consists of New Old (Dead) Stock sunglasses and frames from the 60’s to the 90’s. This era also happens to be the most innovative period in eyewear history. Fashion designers became involved in eyewear designs and new materials; such as Optyl were introduced. Because of this a revolution took place in the eyewear industry.

Vintage eyewear is becoming more popular every day and not only because of the Hollywood stars that made them popular in the first place, but also because it’s simply a fashion statement. Vintage frames & sunglasses have become much more than a simple fashion accessory.

People want to stand out in a crowd and that’s why they like to own a quality product that will last them a lifetime.

Most of the Eyewear vintage frames & sunglasses were produced in Europe, USA or Japan and the majority of them were handmade as opposed to the cheap mass production of (most) eyewear nowadays. The quality of these frames is absolutely amazing and the fact that you’re buying something that was produced decades ago also means that you’re aware of sustainability and recycling.

All Eyewear Vintage items are new and unworn; they’re handpicked and selected on outstanding craftsmanship. These sunglasses and frames are also rare, collectible and single pieces. This means that once you’ve purchased a pair of from our collection, it won’t be available to anyone else anywhere soon.

Eyewear Vintage has also partnered up with Schmidt Optiek and besides them being a purveyor to royalty, they also happen to be the oldest optician in the Netherlands. Because of this unique collaboration, we can now also offer optical services, like customized eyewear and prescription lenses with dioptric for our frames.
