Me & Barbara Tucker……please!

Amsterdam in the 90’s was of course a mecca of house music and amazing parties. Clubs like the IT, Roxy, Powerzone, Escape had the best parties and DJ’s from all over the world were flown in to entertain the crowd. I am happy that I started to go out in this period. I was asked be a hostess for many fabulous parties. I have witnessed creativity that till this day I have not seen anymore in the nightlife of Amsterdam. The energy of people was all about freedom. You could maybe say that the 90’s  were almost like the 70’s was for that generation. Amsterdam was the Gay Capital of Europe and designers like Thierry Mugler, Claude Montana, Rifat Ozbek and even Mr Valentino often visited the city. One couldn’t buy a vip table but you just had to be very special or known before the hostess of the vip area would allow you to come in. It was a crazy time! The music I preferred listening too was of course the upcoming RnB from New York. But mostly I worked in party scene’s where house music was ruling. One of these tracks from that time was the famous ” Deep Deep Inside” or “Beautiful People” with the vocals of Barbara Tucker. These songs are still around in various remixes or samples by the new generation producers.

Barbara Tucker is a sensational entertainer that truly captures the essence why we go to performances. Her shows are extremely intense with her captivating voice and phenomenal stage presence. Barbara to house and dance is what Aretha Franklin is to soul. She did vocals for Moby, Pet Shop Boys, Dave Steward, Deee – Lite, Wyclef Jean, George Clinton, Herbie Hancock, Danny Teneglia, Eric Moriello, Lil Louis, Louie Vega, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, David Guetta, Blaze, Junior Vasquez and the list goes on!

This Mother of House music also has had Billboard number 1 Club Hits : Beautiful People, I get lifted, Stay Together, Jazz it up, Stop playing with my Mind, Most precious love and Love Vibration. Songs you will definitely remember while hearing and you certainly can sing along and dance too.

During October 15th – 19th  is ADE, Amsterdam Dance Event,  the biggest electronical music conference in the world.  DJ’s, party organisations, producers and people of the dance business from all over the world come to Amsterdam to meet and showcase themselves. Barbara Tucker will also have her showcase together with DJ Q at the beautiful SkyLounge Amsterdam on the 11th floor of the DoubleTree by Hilton Centraal Station Amsterdam Thursday October 16th. I am absolutely sure she will turn the house up! I can’t wait to see her perform.

” As long as the Creator gives me breathe, I shall sing the Messages of Love and encourage young artist all over the world to express the gift to the fullest, the world waits!” – Barbara Tucker
